Climate Crisis, Environment and Sustainable Solutions
UPHWO believes that the climate crisis is the greatest threat to humanity and the planet. We support the urgent and ambitious action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and limit global warming to 1.5°C, as agreed in the Paris Agreement. We also support the adaptation and resilience of people and ecosystems to the impacts of climate change, such as droughts, floods, and diseases. We work in various domains such as energy, agriculture, water, and waste. We have one main program that aims to:
- Implement sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions for climate action: We help our partners and beneficiaries to adopt and scale up sustainable, resilient and innovative solutions that contribute to climate mitigation and adaptation. We provide them with technical and financial assistance, and we broker partnerships and manage multi-stakeholder initiatives for climate action. We also advocate for the integration of climate considerations into policies, plans, and budgets, at all levels of governance.
