Volunteer and Internship Program

UPHWO offers various opportunities for volunteers and interns to get involved in our work and support our mission. Whether you are a student, a professional, or a retiree, you can find a role that suits your interests, availability, and qualifications.

As a volunteer or intern, you will:

  • Work with a dedicated and diverse team of staff and partners
  • Learn about the challenges and opportunities facing the communities we serve
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of our programs and projects
  • Develop your knowledge, skills, and competencies in various areas
  • Make a positive difference in the lives of the people we help

Some of the areas that you can volunteer or intern in are:

  • Child protection, education, health, and nutrition
  • Gender-based violence prevention, women’s empowerment, and livelihoods
  • Communication, advocacy, and fundraising
  • Finance, administration, and human resources
  • Monitoring, evaluation, and research

Step for applying for our volunteer and internship program

  • Submit your resume and a cover letter
  • Provide two references
  • Agree to our code of conduct and child protection policy
  • Undergo a background check and an interview

We accept applications on a rolling basis and we will contact you if you are shortlisted. The duration and location of your volunteer or internship assignment will depend on the availability of positions and your preferences.
