UPHWO’s code of conduct is a set of rules and principles that guide the behavior and actions of its staff, consultants, volunteers, and interns. The code of conduct aims to ensure that UPHWO operates in a fair, transparent, and ethical manner, and respects the values and principles of the organization. Some of the main aspects of the code of conduct are:

  • Respect for human rights, dignity, and diversity
  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and goals of UPHWO
  • Accountability and responsibility for the results and impact of UPHWO’s work
  • Compliance with the laws and regulations of Burundi and the countries where UPHWO operates
  • Prevention and reporting of any misconduct, fraud, corruption, or abuse of power
  • Protection of the confidentiality and security of UPHWO’s information and assets
  • Avoidance of any conflict of interest or appearance of impropriety
  • Adherence to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity

The code of conduct is signed by all the members of UPHWO and they are required to participate in a training on child protection. The code of conduct also applies to UPHWO’s partners and suppliers, who are expected to respect and follow the same rules and principles1.
